Containerized small package sewage treatment plant for irrigation ISO Standard
Specifications:
Description:
Membrane Bioreactors have been used for the successful treatment of municipal, commercial and industrial wastewaters for discharge and reuse since the 1980s. Membranes physically reject pathogens and other suspended solids, producing an extremely high quality effluent.
Containerized plant, takes advantage of the compact nature of the MBR system, and can be used as either temporary or permanent solutions, or as pilot plants for high strength industrial applications. The containerized plants can treat low strength municipal waste or high strength industrial effluent. The plant has a small footprint and is simple to set up, connect to a power supply and begin treatment of wastewaters. Finance and leasing options are available.
Despite its simplicity, extremely high levels of treatment are achievable, with both the Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) and Submerged Aerated Filter (SAF) reducing the risk of water-borne disease and nuisance odours. Conveniently supplied in trace-heated and lagged 20’ ISO containers, complete protection is provided across environments from -56°C to +58°C. The package design includes all associated ancillary equipment such as pumping stations, pipe-work, valves and fittings. The containerized MBR package is capable of providing a Grade 2 water quality discharge which is suitable for reuse, wash-down or irrigation. Non-containerized tanks incorporate lifting points for easy loading and off-loading from flat bed transporters, and are sized for C130 aircraft.
How it works?
The membrane bioreactor (MBR) receives raw effluent via an inlet pump to a fine screen. Screened influent then moves to the membrane tank. Treatment occurs via a submerged membrane filtration process within the activated sludge.
Aeration serves to oxidize BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) and ammonia and produces a cross-flow across the membrane surfaces to minimize membrane fouling. Fine bubble aeration diffusers can also add extra oxygen that may be required with stronger loaded wastes such as industrial effluent.
Permeate passes through the membranes via a header, with flow controlled by an automated modulating valve. A pressure transducer on the permeate line calculates the differential pressure necessary to achieve required flows. This data can be used to initiate a pre-emptive chemical clean of the membranes. Chemical cleaning is normally carried out every six months.
A flow meter records current and total permeate flow. Overflows are provided on the screening unit and within the MBR tank.
