Coagulation sedimentation tank
Coagulation sedimentation tank is a kind of sedimentation tank in water supply and drainage. The coagulation process is the most basic and extremely important process in the treatment of industrial water and domestic sewage. By adding some chemicals (usually called coagulants and coagulants) to the water, the particles that are difficult to settle in the water can polymerize with each other. A colloid is formed, which then combines with impurities in the water body to form a larger floc. The floc has strong adsorption capacity, not only can adsorb suspended matter, but also adsorb some bacteria and dissolved substances. Through adsorption, the flocs increase in volume and sink.
The application of coagulation sedimentation technology in water treatment has a history of hundreds of years. Compared with other physical and chemical methods, it has the advantages of good water quality, stable and reliable process operation, economical and practical, and simple operation.
Pool type and characteristics of flocculation reaction tank
Types |
Pros and cons |
Conditions of Use |
|
Partition flocculation tank |
Reciprocating |
Advantages: good flocculation effect, simple structure and convenient construction. Disadvantages: large volume, large head loss, flocs easily broken at the turning point, |
It is not easy to distribute the water flow evenly. For water plants with a water volume greater than 30000m/d, the water volume changes little |
Rotary |
Advantages: good flocculation effect, small head loss, simple structure and convenient construction. Disadvantages: easy to accumulate mud at the exit, |
It is not easy to distribute the water flow evenly. For water plants with a water volume greater than 30000m/d, the water volume changes little. Suitable for old pool reconstruction and expansion |
|
Cyclone flocculation tank |
Advantages: small volume, small head loss. Disadvantages: the pond is deep, the construction at the high groundwater level is difficult, and the flocculation effect is poor. |
Generally suitable for small and medium water plants |
|
Vortex flocculation tank |
Advantages: short flocculation time, small volume and low cost. Disadvantages: The pond is deeper, the cone bottom construction is difficult, and the flocculation effect is poor. |
Water plants with water volume less than 30000m/d |
|
Folded plate flocculation tank |
Advantages: short flocculation time, small volume and good flocculation effect. Disadvantages: high cost. |
Water plant with little change in water volume |
|
Perforated cyclone flocculation tank |
Advantages: simple structure and convenient construction. Disadvantages: poor flocculation effect. |
Water plant with little change in water volume |
|
Mechanical flocculation tank |
Advantages: good flocculation effect, small head loss, and can adapt to changes in water quality and volume. Disadvantages: requires mechanical equipment and frequent maintenance. |
Suitable for large and small water volumes, and adapt to water plants with large changes in water volume |
